Tool Information
TerraMatch is an online platform developed by WRI to connect local land restoration champions (e.g., community organizations and enterprises) with funders and technical assistance. It vets project proposals, supports growth, and monitors progress using data from field reports and satellite imagery.
Launched in 2020, it has funded over 200 projects across Africa, India, and Brazil, planting 30 million+ trees and creating thousands of jobs. It’s part of WRI’s Global Restoration Initiative, focusing on high-quality, scalable reforestation to combat deforestation and climate change. Users can submit projects for grants ($50,000-$500,000), track impacts, and access resources like TerraFund for AFR100. This tool is ideal for 2025 reforestation, emphasizing community-led, verifiable outcomes.
